Amul success story in English

After getting a degree in science like a graduate, engineering from a mechanical and a master of science from America, it seems a bit strange if someone is seen working on dairy products.

But friends say…

If a person moves ahead with a good mind, then he can be successful even by doing small things.

This is proved by Varghese Kurien ji .. who is considered the founder of Amul Company.

Friends, the Amul Company was started in order to get the poor milk producers of small villages in Gujarat to get their rights, and this is about 1946 when India was also a slave of the British.

At that time, the poor farmers of the village had to sell milk to brokers, who used to eat a large part of their hard work as middlemen.

However, the poor farmers did not even have an option because only a few selected companies had put their money in the whole country.

To get the right of the poor milk producers of the village, Tribhuvandas started Amul Company along with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Morarji Desai. Which was registered as a corporate company on 14 December 1946.

Friends, a corporate company is a company made by a lot of people together.

Later on, at the behest of Tribhuvandas, in 1949, Varghese Kurien joined this company. Who received a Master of Science degree from Michigan State University of America in 1948.

Friends… if Varghese Kurien wanted to, he could live a comfortable life even after doing a good job, but instead he “preferred to help the farmers of the country”.

After joining the company, the biggest challenge before him was that "Polson Dairy" had occupied the whole country, Polson Dairy was the only largest dairy company at that time, which is why the poor farmers were forced by middlemen. The same company had to sell milk. That too at very low prices.

But then, reminding them of their rights, people were persuaded not to sell milk to Polson Dairy. And join this corporate company to avoid middlemen and get the right price for milk.

Gradually, the poor farmers started to understand this model of Amul Company and in this way many milk producing farmers started joining with the company.

"Also, companions state that where there is solidarity there is triumph." Amul Company's milk slowly started reaching all over the country, and then, Varghese Kurien prepared the model so that farmers could get maximum benefit at the least cost.

He divided the process into several levels to check the quality of milk and facilitate people.

In which first a village-village union was formed… .and the plant was also established there, after checking the quality of milk from the village, it was sent to further districts, and then after checking there, it was sent to the state level. Shipped at…. Where its packing was done… .and some milk used to reach the homes of people through this process.

Soon, Kurien's hard work and dedication began to bring color. And Amul company started to achieve huge successes one after the other. But a major contribution to the success of this company…. There was also milk powder, which Amul made for the first time with buffalo milk.

While scientists believed that milk powder of buffalo milk could not be made, but Varghese Kurien proved everyone wrong, and made a new discovery while doing research with buffalo milk.

And then in the future Amul company touched many heights, and in today's time Amul…. Apart from milk and milk powder, many things like ghee, cheese, chocolate, ice cream, and butter are made.

And if you tell about today's time, about 32 lakh people are connected with Amul…. Which supplies milk daily.

And for this contribution of Kurien, he has got many similar like Padma Vibhushan, Krishi Ratna, and Padma Shri. And people know him by the name of Milkman Of India.

Although Dr. Varghese Kurien has now left this world, he died on 9 September 2012 in Gujarat. But friends may not be in this world, but their thoughts and deeds will live forever.
